Stand-Off in Iowa City Ends Peacefully

A STAND-OFF IN IOWA CITY ENDING PEACEFULLY SUNDAY MORNING. AROUND 2:30 IN THE MORNING, POLICE RECIEVED A REPORT THAT A DRIVER HAD DISPLAYED A HANDGUN AND MADE A THREAT TO A RESIDENT ON DAVIS STREET. OFFICERS LOCATED THE VEHICLE AND THE SUSPECT FLED ON FOOT INTO A RESIDENCE AT 2017 TAYLOR DRIVE. A 24 YEAR-OLD FEMALE OCCUPANT OF THE RESIDENCE EXITED AT THE REQUEST OF OFFICERS, BUT THE SUSPECT, 21 YEAR-OLD TORIAN TOPEZ CLEGGETTE, DID NOT. POLICE STORMED THE HOUSE AROUND 9:30 AND CLEGGETTE WAS FOUND HIDING IN THE ATTIC. HE WAS ARRESTED ON A PREVIOUS WARRENT FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.
