University of Iowa officials try to help fans "stay cool" at football game

KINNICK STADIUM IN IOWA CITY WILL BE A GIANT "PRESSURE COOKER" SATURDAY, FOR THE FANS, AS TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE MID-90S, THE HEAT INDEX CLIMBING OVER 100, FOR THE FOOTBALL GAME. RICK KLATT WITH THE ATHLETIC OFFICE SAYS THEY'RE TRYING TO GET THE WORD OUT TO FANS, TO DRINK WATER IN ADVANCE, AS WELL AS ON GAME DAY  .    THE UNIVERSITY'S URGING RESPONSIBLE "TAILGATING" -REMINDING FANS THAT ALCOHOL TENDS TO DE-HYDRATE THE BODY. FANS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING IN UN-OPENED BOTTLES OF WATER, AND THEY'LL HAVE COOLING-MISTING STATIONS INSIDE THE STADIUM AS WELL. IOWA HOSTS NORTHERN ILLINOIS SATURDAY, KICK OFF AT 2:30PM.
